The tradition of innovation

A visit to Nautor's Swan factory at Pietarsaari is a truly rewarding experience. For those with a yacht in build, it is an opportunity to witness the construction process at first hand. The scale of operation is impressive, but it is not surprising, considering the high level of sophistication of the final product. At the Design Office, arrangements and detailed drawings take into account ergonomics, practically and visual appeal.

Technological research and development in the construction methods are regarded as important as the advances in the yacht design and layouts.
Among the solutions undertaken, it led to the production of composite rudder stocks by Resin Transfer Moulding, a procedure which is unique in the industry.

More recently, it has enabled the use of the pre-preg carbon fibre/Nomex cored bulkheads and deck for the Swan 80 and 82RS.
Decision upon the production process are not taken lightly and are based upon many years of cruising and racing experience. It takes about four months to complete a Swan 48, nine months to a Swan 80.
In that time, each yacht receives the attention of many different departments at Nautor's Swan, from engineering drawings to lamination, from epoxy-bonded teak decking to the anodising facility for fittings and spars, from rigging to electrics.

Nautor's Swan builds sailing yachts for dedicated, enthusiastic yachtsmen and women who want to sail their yachts in maximum comfort and safety: this is the foundation upon which their unbeatable reputation of this company has been built.

The unrivalled craftsmanship of Swan Yachts represents a synthesis of quality, beauty and performance for family cruising as well as sailing in the toughest conditions. Nautor's Swan is the essence of passion and unrelenting commitment to excellence in yachting.
